Dragons' Den

Prowaste appeared in episode 8 of the sixth series of Dragons’ Den which aired on BBC2 on the 8th September 2008. The show invites entrepreneurs to pitch for investment from five business achievers the 'Dragons', who are willing to invest their own money and expertise in exchange for equity.

Paul Tinton, MD of Prowaste pitched the opportunity to the Dragons and says that presenting in the Den was one of the scariest things he has ever done! It was well worth it though as he left the Den with a £200,000 investment and the backing of Deborah Meaden and Duncan Bannatyne.

Deborah Meaden commented “whilst it's difficult to get too excited about waste management it was clear that Paul and his business partner Colin had identified a real need in a fairly traditional marketplace. They had already set themselves up as experts in the construction waste recycling field and the company was showing strong early trading results. Paul came over as smart, knowledgeable and focused. He had his finger on the pulse in terms of current legislation and he convinced me that this legislation had the potential to generate substantial new business for Prowaste.”
