Skip Loading Guidance

Level Loads
Skips should only be level loaded to the mark on the top of the skip - all waste must remain within the skip container. If you fail to adhere to these guidelines our drivers may ask for excess materials to be unloaded and we will return with another empty skip container.

Material restrictions
Please note that the following items must not be put into the skip:
» Fridges
» Freezers
» WEEE
» Asbestos
» CO2 gas
» Gas Cylinders
» Toxic Waste
» Medical Waste

If you wish to dispose of any of these items please contact us so that we can make special arrangements for them to be collected. If you are unsure of any material please contact us and we will try to ascertain what it is and let you know whether it can be placed in the skip.

Permits
You do not need a permit to put a skip down on private property as long as you have the landowners permission. However, if a skip needs to be placed on a public site, such as by the road side, a permit must be applied for. For a small charge Prowaste can organise these permits for you, but please be aware that we can only work as fast as the council who will issue it!

To book a skip, to enquire about permits or for advice on manual handling and lifting heavy items into a skip please contact us by phone, fax or email.
